Hello Dunham Families,
The remaining Back to School Nights were wrapped up this week. We were excited that so many of you were able to tune in. Our teachers did a wonderful job on their Back to School night presentations. As quarantines arise, I would encourage you to fill out an independent study form through the school office. Independent study allows the school to receive attendance revenues. We are able to offer short term independent study for up to 14 total school days during the school year. If the 14 days get exhausted we are still more than happy to provide work for our students while in quarantine.
We still have instructional aide and after school daycare positions open. Dunham has a great team of professionals and is a wonderful and deeply rewarding place to work at. If you are interested or have a friend or family member who you think would be a good fit for our team please have them call the office for more information.
As mentioned before, we have some new staff members this school year. Lori Carlson has joined our staff as our Learning Center Teacher. We are excited and fortunate to have her. Here is a little about Mrs. Carlson:
Lori Carlson is Dunham School’s new Education Specialist. She earned a BA from UC Berkeley, Multi-subject Teaching Credential from Cal State East Bay, and Special Education Credential from Sonoma State. Lori has been working with elementary school children for twenty years. She loves the small community feel at Dunham and has enjoyed getting to know it’s amazing students and wonderful staff! Lori lives in Petaluma with her husband and two children. Lori enjoys traveling with her family, hiking with her dog “Rohan” (Lord of the Rings anyone?), and gardening.

PTO Dine and Donate
Our PTO is holding a Dine and Donate at Mary’s Pizza Shack next Tuesday, September 14. Come and support Dunham Elementary School by bringing the attached flyer and 20% of your purchase will be donated to our school’s PTO. DAYCARE (status has not changed from last week)
Next week we will continue to offer after school daycare for students in any grade up until 4:00 p.m. Please remember that a student needs to be fully registered for daycare at least 24 hours prior to attending daycare. There is an annual registration fee of $30 per child (not per a family) that is due at the time of registration.
PTO Meeting
Please join the PTO for our first meeting of the 2021/2022 school year. We will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 14th at 2:45pm in the Dunham outdoor classroom, with a Zoom option for those of who would prefer an online format. Board Meeting
On Tuesday, September 14, at 6:00 we will be having our monthly regular board meeting. This meeting is in-person and takes place in the Dunham School Community Room. Once this meeting starts it will be promptly adjourned until Wednesday, September 15 at 6:00 p.m. in the same place. We hope to see you there!
