Hello Dunham Families,

I’m excited to share the winners of our yearbook cover contests are Ari and Troy!  Yes, we have two this year!  There were so many great entries that we wished we could have picked more.  Great job and thank you to all the 6th grade students who entered.  Students were excited to be back on the play structures this week and have things feeling a little more normal.  It was wonderful to see their smiling faces.  Yesterday a survey was sent out.  We are looking for one response per a household.  Thank you to all those who have already filled it out  If you have not yet had the opportunity to do so the information is below.  The survey closes on May 17th at 9:00 p.m.

2021-2022 Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/72396JH

The reason for the survey:

We are in the process of updating our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) and creating an Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) grant plan.

We want to hear how your school is doing to involve and engage you in your child’s or students’ education and our decision making process. Your input is valuable as we continue to align our goals and financial resources.

Your feedback will help Dunham Elementary School District provide effective communications and improve our customer service and programs. Specifically, your input will form our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) grant plan.

The LCAP process is an important way for students, parents, educators, and the community to engage in Dunham’s decision making. It is a critical part of California’s funding formula and describes Dunham’s overall vision for students, annual goals, specific actions, and measurable outcomes.

The ELO grant plan provides supplemental instruction and support to students, including those identified as needing academic, social-emotional, and other support.

Here’s where we need your help. We want to be sure we’re hitting our 8 Priorities.

The state’s 8 Priorities are:

  1. Basic Services such as: facilities, qualified teachers and instructional materials
  2. Implementation of Academic Standards
  3. Parent Involvement
  4. Student Achievement
  5. Student Engagement
  6. School Climate
  7. Course Access
  8. Other Pupil Outcomes (decided locally)

This survey is designed to help Dunham understand where our strengths and weaknesses lie to help our committees, Staff, and the School Board to create our goals and budget for the next school year.

Please use the Additional Comments at the end of the survey to add any thoughts you feel may have not been addressed by the survey.  If there is something you would like a response to please email me directly.

Thank you for filling out this important survey and contributing to the process of offering our students a safe environment, strong academics, and a well-rounded program.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Daniel Hoffman

Superintendent / Principal
