February 18, 2022

Hello Dunham Families,

We had a wonderful week that included our first school-wide assembly in a very long time.  It was a wonderful experience and we look forward to getting back into that pre pandemic routine.  I am excited to share that we will have both garden and drama for the third trimester.  A big thank you to our PTO for providing our students with these opportunities and Marie Valdez for finding us a drama teacher!  On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, it will be Twos-Day!  We will be having a special “Tutus and Ties” spirit day.  Please see the attached flyer:  Twos-Day Flyer

Last week the CDPH changed some of its guidelines.  Currently the K-12 guidelines (including masking) have not changed.  On Feb. 28, the state is expected to update guidelines for K-12 schools.  We will be reviewing the CDPH K-12 updates once they are made known.  As the state reconsiders school pandemic guidelines, Dr. Mark Ghaly, California’s Health and Human Services Secretary, said officials will be paying close attention to pediatric vaccination rates, case rates, testing positivity and hospitalizations, both among children and the community at large.  Schools have been asked to share with families that the best way they can help ease COVID mitigation measures in schools is to make sure their children are up to date on COVID vaccinations. The vaccines have been shown to reduce the likelihood that infected individuals will become very sick or require hospitalization, and they also help limit the spread of the virus.

Please review the announcements below.

Have a wonderful three-day weekend,

Daniel Hoffman

Enrollment Time!

We had a wonderful 100th Day of school with some fun costumes and classroom activities.  The 100th day also means it is school registration time.  If you have a future TK or Kindergartener at home who is either turning 5 on or before September 1st, 2022 (for Kindergarten) or turns 5 between September 2nd and February 2, 2023 (for TK), please call the office so we can make sure we have a spot for them on our class rosters for next year.  Also, we have room for students in some other grades as well.  As you know, Dunham is a unique and great place to go to school.  Our campus, culture, programs, staff, community, families and traditions make for an exceptional educational experience.  If you have a family member, friend or neighbor who is looking for a school, send them our way.  We’d love a chance to meet with them and further discuss our wonderful school. We appreciate your support.
