Dunham News

Hello Dunham Families,

We have a Spirit Day coming up on Wednesday, April 22.  It will be “Sports Day!” We encourage all Dunham Dragons to show their school spirit and dress up. If you would like to share your school spirit with your classmates have a parent email a picture to dhoffman@dunhamsd.k12.ca.us and we will post it on the school’s Facebook page.

Today (4/17) is the last day to login reading for the Read-A-Thon. Donations can continue to be solicited until May 8th.  Funds are not due until then. We will find a way to collect packets and money and let you know as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!

Flower Power fundraising materials have arrived!  There will be a pick up on Thursday, April 23, from 10:00-11:30am.  There are 12 total orders to pick up. Items will be marked and be placed on the red benches directly outside of the office doors.  The gates will be open during this time. All you have to do is pull up to the curb, briefly get out of the car and grab your designated item(s).  Please wear a mask and follow proper social distancing guidelines.

If for any reason you are unable to make this day, please contact Kristin Gabbard at 415-385-9915 to make arrangements to do a drive-by pick-up in Cotati.  We raised approximately $1500.00 with paper and online sales!! Thank you for continuing to support Dunham and a big thank you to our PTO and Kristin Gabbard.

With the new Sonoma County ordinance for wearing masks  / face covers, I’d like to share with you what our School Nurse, Nurse Kristin recently shared with the Dunham staff:

Advice from Nurse Kristin:

PPE, personal protective equipment – There has been a lot of talk about masks/face coverings these past few weeks and there is a lot of information out there about what we should be doing.  I am sure you heard that starting on 4/17/20 Sonoma County instituted an ordinance that we are to wear masks/face coverings when we go into public buildings or are outside and unable to maintain a distance of 6 feet from another person.  Here is that order:

https://socoemergency.org/order-of-the-health-officer-facial-coverings/

Covid-19 is spread through respiratory droplets that are produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks. It has been shown that people can be contagious up to 48 hours before having any signs of being sick and as many as 50% are asymptomatic. Wearing this type of mask/face covering  is to prevent YOU putting the virus out into the air.  It is to help protect others.

Staying at home, washing our hands, and wearing masks are all things we can do to help flatten that curve.

Take care everyone,

Daniel Hoffman

Superintendent / Principal
