Dunham News
Hello Dunham Families,
The last few weeks have been interesting and unsettling. I hope this message finds you and your loved ones safe. I know everyone is working hard from home and school to support the students with distance learning. Teachers and parents, you are doing a great job.
We have had a variety of updates go out the last three weeks as information became available. With distance learning now in place for the remainder of the school year I’d like to get back to the traditional digital Friday Folder, minus the week at a glance.
Remember that April 17, it is a professional development day for teachers. This means there will be no distance learning offered that day; it is a non instructional day (no students) on our school calendar.
Our next learning materials pick up will be on April 29. Like last time, it will be a “grab-and-go” approach.
To prevent overcrowding please follow this pick up schedule:
8:00-10:00 Last names starting with the letters A-H
10:00-12:00 Last names starting with the letters I-R
12:30-2:30 Last names starting with the letters S-Z
Not all students will have materials to pick up; some have already gotten it or will get it digitally. If your student does not have materials to pick up your child’s teacher will let you know prior to pick up day.
We are having lots of fun on the school’s Facebook page with school spirit days. There are still three more spirit days coming up. Please see the attached spirit days flyer for more information.
In response to the Shelter in Place Order the Board of Education is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our entire Dunham community. Pursuant to Executive Order N-29-20 issued by Governor Gavin Newsom on March 17, 2020, Dunham School District will be conducting its Board of Trustees meeting in a different modality until social distancing directives have been lifted.
The District will be leveraging a webinar format (using Zoom) in order for the Trustees to participate remotely, and to allow for orderly public comment. There will not be a physical location for board meetings until further notice. Please see the attached flyer with more information on how to view the upcoming board meeting or offer public comment in the meeting.
Also attached you will find our instructional calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. We have added in emergency days per the California Department of Education’s request. There is an explanation of how the emergency days will be used attached as well.
Stay safe everyone,
Daniel Hoffman
Superintendent / Principal
