Dunham News
Hello Dunham Families,
Wow, Wow and Wow! Yesterday (Thursday) was amazing! It was so wonderful to see so many of you at the Staff Appreciation Parade. Speaking on behalf of the staff, it did our hearts good to see so many of our students as well as you parents. Your kindness and generosity in showing up, honking your horn, and waiving did more for us then you may ever know. Everyone was all smiles and we were uplifted. Students, parents and our PTO, on behalf of the staff, we thank you for your kind gesture yesterday. Dunham is indeed a special place to be.
Natalie Hiller and Rachel Mutschler thank you! For those of you that may not know, Natalie and Rachel have been working hard towards a contest that would bring prize money to the school garden. Students and staff have helped along the way. Part of the contest entry is this beautiful Pollinator Power mural (pictured above). This is a fantastic piece of garden art that is a result of lots of time, dedication and love for the Dunham students. Thank you Natalie and Rachel for making our campus a brighter place. More pictures of this amazing mural will be posted on the Dunham School Facebook page.
The end of the school year is quickly approaching with only three weeks left. I can’t believe how fast it has gone by. We will be sending home report cards at the end of May. The 3rd trimester has been, as you all know, anything but normal. Due to COVID-19 and the shelter in place order, the 3rd trimester report cards have been modified to reflect the work completed and the participation of each student. We will do this by using the comments section of the report card to “report out” on each student’s work and participation.
In response to the Shelter in Place Order the Board of Education is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our entire Dunham community. Pursuant to Executive Order N-29-20 issued by Governor Gavin Newsom on March 17, 2020, Dunham School District will be conducting its Board of Trustees meeting in a different modality until social distancing directives have been lifted.
The District will be leveraging a webinar format (using Zoom) in order for the Trustees to participate remotely, and to allow for orderly public comment. There will not be a physical location for board meetings until further notice. Please see the attached flyer with more information on how to view the upcoming board meeting or offer public comment in the meeting.
I’d like to wish all the moms out there a Happy Mothers Day. I hope you have a fabulous Sunday and that your loved ones spoil you.
Take care,
Daniel Hoffman
Superintendent / Principal
