March 19, 2021

Hello Dunham Families,

We are one week away from Spring Break (March 29 – April 9) which puts us five school days away from our hybrid reopening.  We are very excited to have so many of our students back on campus.  As families finalized their decisions we have been able to finalize our schedules.  I have wonderful news, not only are we returning in a two day a week onsite hybrid but based on space (six feet distancing) and hybrid enrollment numbers, our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will be able to return four days a week (Tuesday-Friday, 8:00-11:30)!  This decision was based on stable group guidance and classroom capacity to support six feet of distancing per county health guidelines.  Please keep in mind that not all classrooms are the same size.

I’m sure this comes as a surprise; it has been a recent development for us too.  We are excited to offer even more time on campus but realize that those with students in TK, K, and 1st grades will likely be disappointed, this I can understand.  I hope as Sonoma County COVID-19 case rates continue to decrease state and county guidance will allow all of our grades on campus more frequently.

I am excited to share that next week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, our TK stable group will be returning to campus.  This will be their first time ever stepping foot on campus as students.  We are excited to give them a little head start.  It also allows us to do a run through of our plans on a smaller group of people.

Later today, Teachers will be sharing (via email) information to parents about 100% distance learning for the reminder of the school year and hybrid schedules.  I know this last year has been like no other but we are excited to move in a positive direction with students starting to return back to campus.  I appreciate all of you parents, our Dunham staff, and the students.  Everyone has stepped up in many ways to support our wonderful students.

Take care and I’m looking forward to seeing you soon,

Spirit Day

Crazy Hair Day is on Wednesday, March 24.  We encourage all Dunham Dragons to show your school spirit and dress up. If you would like to share your school spirit with your classmates have a parent email a picture to dhoffman@dunhamsd.k12.ca.us and we will post it on the school’s Facebook page.

COVID-19 Screening Temperature Update

The county health department has updated its guidelines for temperature screening to line up with the standing state health department guidelines.  The updated temperature screening is 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.  Meaning students or staff with a temperature of 100.4 or higher are not allowed on campus. You should contact your child’s doctor for further information and medical guidance, and please let the school know that your child will not be at school.

Picture Make-ups

Hello All!  We have just set an All-School Make-Up Day on Saturday morning, March 27 at our studio in Cotati. Please have parents call our studio at (707) 762-7518 to set-up an appointment.

These photos will be finished in time to include in your yearbook.
