During the winter trimester, when the garden is muddy and rain is more likely, students take a Drama class instead. Students learn public speaking skills, play improv games, practice social skills, write and perform skits and plays, and have fun making memories with their classmates. Our Drama teacher collaborates with teachers to incorporate lessons that will help students academically, socially, and emotionally. It’s a safe place for students to explore thoughts and feelings and take risks in the classroom they might not otherwise take. Depending on the grade level and class interest, parents are invited to participate in a Drama class or view a short performance at the end of the trimester.
Our small size affords us the ability to know every family and child on a personal level: their likes, their learning styles, and their dreams. With only one class per grade level, our kids feel a real sense of family and stability as they grow up together.
