February 8, 2021
Dear Dunham Families,
As I reflect on this last year, our students are about a month and a half away from the one year mark since they have last been on campus for school. I know this is frustrating for all, students, parents and staff. This pandemic has caused hard times in many different ways for so many. I appreciate all the hard work and flexibility shown by all of you as we all have been put in a variety of situations we never before thought we’d face.
I write this letter to you to express my hope for a safe return to school. As COVID-19 spread indicators continue to whittle down in Sonoma County the reality of a return to campus begins to take shape. My hope is for a return to campus in a hybrid model this spring, possibly right after spring break. I wish we could all return together, but safety requires that we meet in smaller groups.
Over the next month we will continue to monitor designated COVID-19 indicators and continue to review our plans to make sure they are up to speed with the most current state and county guidelines.
We will also be holding parent information nights about our plans and updating our survey information with regards to which families would like to participate in the on-site hybrid and which families would prefer to stay in distance learning for the remainder of this school year (through June 2021).
Please see the attached letter regarding COVID-19 and returning to school from the Sonoma County Office of Education.
Sincerely,
Daniel Hoffman
Superintendent / Principal
